These terms
These terms apply when you buy a rug on rugonic.com for delivery outside Türkiye, as a consumer. Please read them before you order. They are in English.
Our rugs
Every rug is made to order, after you buy it, from our designs, sizes and types. Our photos show the design as closely as we can, but screens differ, so colors may look slightly different in your room. Sizes can differ by up to ±2%. Care instructions are on each rug’s page and in Help.
Prices and taxes
Prices are in US dollars (USD). The price you see includes the rug and its shipping, which is free. We ship to the United States and the 27 countries of the European Union (and, under the Turkish documents, to Türkiye). We add no VAT or sales tax to orders outside Türkiye.
- United States: import duties and fees are included. There is nothing to pay at the door.
- The European Union: your rug is imported, so your country may charge import VAT, duties and a handling fee on delivery. You pay these to the courier or customs.
If a price on our site is obviously wrong, we’ll tell you before we make your rug, and you can cancel for a full refund.
How you order, and when the contract is made
Choose a rug, its size and its type, add it to your bag and go to checkout. You can check and correct everything before you press the button to pay. Pressing it places an order with an obligation to pay. When we accept your order, we email you a confirmation, and that email makes the contract between us. The email has your order’s details, and these terms stay on this page, so you can save them.
If we can’t accept your order, for example because we can’t deliver to your address, we’ll tell you and refund anything you paid in full.
Payment
We take payment when you place your order: by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay through Stripe, or in cryptocurrency (such as Bitcoin or USDC) through our crypto payment provider, named at checkout. Crypto isn’t offered for every country: checkout shows it only where it’s available for your address. Your full card number never reaches us.
If you pay in cryptocurrency, you pay from your own wallet at the rate fixed when you confirm. A refund of a crypto payment is made in the same cryptocurrency, to a wallet address you give us, for the price you paid in US dollars, at the rate on the day of the refund.
Making and delivery
We make your rug after you order and ship it within 2 business days. In the US it arrives 3–5 business days after it ships. In the EU delivery times vary by country, and the tracking link shows its progress. We email you the tracking link when it ships. Unless we agree another date with you, we deliver within 30 days of your order.
The rug is yours, and at your risk, once it is delivered to you or to someone you name. Please check the parcel when it arrives. If it is damaged, tell us within 14 days (see Returns and refunds). More in Shipping and delivery.
Changing your mind
You can cancel your order and return your rug within 14 days of delivery, without giving a reason. This is your right under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, and we give the same right to customers everywhere, including the US. You pay for sending it back. How to do it, and the model form: Returns and refunds.
If something is wrong
Your rug must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If it isn’t, you have legal rights that these terms never limit:
- UK: under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, a short-term right to reject within 30 days, then repair or replacement, or a price reduction or refund.
- EU: the legal guarantee of conformity for 2 years from delivery.
- US: the implied warranties of your state’s law.
On top of these, if your rug arrives damaged or faulty, we replace it or refund you at our cost: see Returns and refunds.
Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We are not responsible for loss that nobody could have foreseen. Our rugs are for home and personal use, so we are not responsible for business losses.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit, including your statutory rights.
Our designs
The designs, photos and words on rugonic.com are ours. Buying a rug gives you the rug, not the right to copy its design.
Events outside our control
If something outside our control delays your order, such as a strike, a storm or a carrier’s failure, we’ll tell you as soon as we can. If the delay is long, you can cancel for a full refund.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live.
Please write to us first at hello@rugonic.com. We’ll try to settle any problem within 14 days. The EU’s online dispute resolution platform closed on July 20, 2025, so there is no link to it here.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The terms on this page when you place your order apply to that order.
