A lime Kazak, dyed over in cobalt.

A Kazak field in dark lime, with three hooked medallions stacked down the middle, fuchsia corners and a navy border of small rosettes. Then cobalt went over the lot, unevenly: heavy down one side, thin on the other, gone in places, so the lime and the fuchsia show through.

The cobalt and the worn patches are part of the design; the rug arrives new. It likes a plain floor and a grey or black sofa, and at 2′×3′60 × 90 cm it wakes up a hallway.
